You Might be a Dairy Goat Snob If.....

When you spend untold amounts of money to fuel your passion for goats, it's only natural that you become particular about things. My good friend Cheryle at Old Mountain Farm coined the phrase "goat snob" and I just thought it was fitting for when goats become your way of life.

You Might Be a Dairy Goat Snob If.....

  • You cringe when someone spells the word "utter" instead of "udder" or "confirmation" instead of "conformation"

  • When someone tells you what their goat is milking in cups instead of pounds, and you just can't even

  • You can proudly quote the very regal pedigrees of all your goats, but don't know a Prada purse from a Coach bag

  • You know the names and reputations of every ADGA judge in your district, but would be hard pressed to name two local politicians.

  • You will spend $300 on a nice set of clippers, but couldn't imagine spending that much money on a pair of shoes

  • You bought your current vehicle based on the towing capacity for your livestock trailer

  • Your social calendar revolves around your herd - goat shows, milking times, kiddings, etc.

  • When you see pictures of other people's goats, you're immediately evaluating them, and wondering what their pedigree is

  • You keep a running list of "dream goats" and have a set of farm websites you stalk regularly

  • Goat milk is the only milk that makes it into your fridge, because you know it's superior
