Wether's are male goats that are castrated. This is usually because there are usually more bucklings born to breeders than should be kept intact to become herd sires. Wethers only require quality hay and fresh water to remain in good health. Some folks do choose to give their wethers grain during the winter months if they live in a cold area to help maintain their weight.
